Welcome to Positive outlook Hypnotherapy. My name is Carl and I am a clinical hypnotherapist.
I use solution focused hypnotherapy to find the best solution for you: to eliminate your fears of anxiety, depression, OCD or any phobias you may have. And to help you move on with your life.
Solution focused hypnotherapy is a combination of CBT, NLP and hypnosis. The many benefits of using hypnosis is that it can help achieve a massive improvement to your problem in a very short space of time.
My background was in the Armed Forces. When I left the services I had treatments for depression and anxiety – which weren’t really that successful. So, I decided to undertake my own research.
One afternoon I read an article on the internet written by Steve de shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, who are solution focused hypnotherapists.
The techniques were easy to learn, and I felt better much quicker.
After reading one of their publications, and the fact that my mind felt much calmer as a result, I enrolled with the Clifton Practice in Bristol- the gold standard of Hypnotherapy training-and re-trained to become a Solution focused hypnotherapist so that I could deepen my knowledge and help others.
I am dedicated to helping clients to deal with addictions, such as; Alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and overeating.
Because the aforementioned substances only increase your anxiety further and make you feel miserable longer- i know i have been there!
I want my clients to have self worth, to have self confidence, and to move forward. I don’t want anybody to suffer in silence and feel the way I felt all those years because it isn’t right.
Part of my work here at Positive Outlook is to help people struggling with crippling anxiety, and to provide coping mechanisms that encourage confidence and self worth which ultimately improves their quality of life
My job is extremely rewarding when I witness the change in my clients relatively soon.
By using solution focused based hypnotherapy we concentrate on dealing with the solutions to problems rather than focusing on problems themselves.
My techniques are all about moving forward to the future and finding the most positive solutions rather than constantly reliving the past which I find very counterproductive.
My therapy room is situated in a quiet, peaceful location and I provide an environment which is safe, warm, comfortable allowing you to explore your feelings and thoughts, having an understanding of why you think the way you do.
